Phil Musicians’ Professional Scholarship Fund

Purpose: The Philharmonic Musician's Professional Scholarship Fund aids students who are truly serious about their music and have aspirations for a career in music, but need financial assistance in reaching their goals.  Selection of recipients will be based on need, talent and the student's desire to excel as a musician.  Audition dates are yet to be determined, but are required.

This scholarship is not intended for beginning-level or collegiate students.  Scholarships are awarded specifically for study with Philharmonic musicians.  Philharmonic musicians, defined as those musicians whose primary source of income is playing with the Philharmonic, are eligible to teach in this program.  In the event that a student is not already studying with a Philharmonic musician, the committee will make every attempt to obtain a Philharmonic musician teacher for the student.  Special arrangements can be considered if the Philharmonic does not employ a full-time musician for a particular instrument.

Eligibility Requirements & Instructions:
  • Must be an instrumental musician under the age of 19
  • Applicant must complete and return application by deadline
  • Teacher Recommendation Form from private music instructor/teacher required (mailed by teacher)
  • Schedule an audition time (date to be determined) by calling (260) 481-0760.
  • For the audition, the student must bring three (3) copies of their selected audition music for the adjudicators.  Student may bring an accompanist, if desired, but it is not a requirement.
