Be a Partner in Your Community!
From Holiday, to Patriotic, to Education – The Phil offers something for everyone in, around and outside Allen County. The Phil annually performs nine Holiday Pops and six Patriotic Pops concerts for communities outside of Allen County each year as a part of the Community Partnership program. In addition, The Phil performs five to six Discovery Concerts in middle schools and high schools outside of Allen County each year as a part of the Community Partnerships program and the Phil’s Education initiatives.
The Phil has a presence in 13 counties throughout northeast Indiana. The Community Partnership Programs are an important component to fulfilling the mission of the organization in the Northeast Indiana region. The Phil believes that the orchestra must have a presence throughout the region by offering musical experiences in alignment with community needs. Through a diverse offering of programs and strategic partnerships with area organizations, The Phil maintains its relevance to the region as the premiere musical organization.
Funding comes from a variety of sources, including ticket sales, foundations, local businesses, town governments, sororities, Philharmonic societies, volunteer organizations and residents. For many concerts, The Phil partners with volunteers to find community-specific funding and to promote concerts. Fundraising strategies for each concert are geared toward the community’s unique resources.
That’s where you step in! We are committed to the growth and development of these programs and appreciate the wonderful support provided by our partners in each community. For most runout Pops concerts, The Phil must raise the funding needed to cover the costs of concert production, musician fees, transportation, sheet music, and per diem. Discovery Concerts are traditionally supported by foundations, school fees, and local Psi Iota Xi and Tri Kappa sororities. Your support is appreciated and vital to the program!
