Jennifer Volk, Principal Flute, has been with the Fort Wayne Philharmonic since 2001.
Volk received her Bachelor of Music from the Eastman School of Music and her Master of Music from Northern Arizona University. Recently Jennifer has played as an extra with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, including the CSO 2008 New York and European tours. She won a first prize in the 2003 National Flute Association Young Artist Competition after receiving the Janet Latz Professional Development Scholarship from the Fort Wayne Philharmonic. Jennifer has been a member of the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra, the Flagstaff Symphony, and the Fontana Festival of Music and Art in Michigan. She has also been a faculty member of Northern Arizona University and Maryville College. Jennifer appeared throughout Arizona as a guest artist, including appearances for the Arizona Flute Society, the Tucson Flute Club, and the Sedona Chamber Music Festival, where she performed with the Cypress String Quartet. From Fairfield, CT, Jennifer is married to Brian Volk and enjoys hiking, camping, skiing, bicycling, and gardening.
