Possibly the most recognizable musical phrase
throughout the entire world opens the beginning of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5. This
piece is an emotionally charged journey dealing with the struggles of fate
which coincides with the composer’s public recognition of his hearing loss.
This piece grows organically from the musical seeds planted in the first few
measures of each section.
