After Hours - Crossing the Stream
February 1st 2013 07:00pm to 09:00pm

Venue: Arts United Center
Conductor: Andrew Constantine

CHAH 3
Description
Crossing the Stream offers an array of dynamic works ranging from Elgar's emotional and romantic Serenade for Strings in E minor, to Haydn's bold, and at times humorous, Symphony No. 82 in C Major, or The Bear. A theatrical suite from Sibelius' Belshazzar's Feast tells the story of the prophet Daniel, and "the writing on the wall." Tiensuu's Puro, is a playful and innovative work, described as "a hall of mirrors in which the solo clarinet casts out ideas which are then reflected in sounds and gestures in the orchestra." Puro will be performed by principal clarinetist, Campbell MacDonald, and is sure to be one of the evening's crowning moments!

The Lincoln Financial Foundation Chamber Series offers incredible chamber music in settings designed to be enjoyed by the full spectrum of The Phil fans.
